The World Bank has forecast that six emerging economies, including South Korea, will lead global growth in some 20 years.
The bank said in a study released on Tuesday that by 2025 South Korea, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia and Russia will account for more than half of all global growth.
The study forecast that emerging economies will grow on average by four-point-seven percent a year between 2011 and 2025, twice the two-point-three percent growth rate likely to occur in advanced countries.
However, the bank was quick to add that despite such slow growth, the U.S., Britain and Japan in addition to countries that use the euro will continue to play a key role in pushing forward global growth.
