Korean corporations sponsor art exhibitions around Seoul

A number of major corporations and companies in Korea, including Samsung, Lotte, Hanjin Group and Hermes Korea, are sponsoring art exhibitions.

Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art will be hosting a special exhibition entitled, “Korean Rhapsody – A Montage of History and Memory”  to help people reflect on their lives and futures through an exploration of the history of modern Korea. The exhibition includes calligraphy s and Japanese woodblock prints.

The Rodin Gallery has reopened under the new name PLATEAU and is holding an exhibition called “Space Study.” Fourteen artists participated in the exhibition, which uses images to study the use of space and provide an opportunity to reconsider how social realities are structures and then restructured.

Another exhibition has been organized by the Hanwha Group at the 63 Sky Art Museum. ”China, The New Wave” examines modern Chinese art through the work of 16 artists.

Works by American pop arts icon Robert Indiana, famed for their bold images and use of typography, will be on display on the 9th floor of Lotte Department in central Seoul.
